Coronet Cutting

These cutting techniques have only come about in the last couple of years, as both environmental/habitat management and arboricultural science has advanced.

Where as in normal tree surgery operations, limbs are removed only to suitable growth points, and care is taken with the finishing cut, to help the reduce chances of infection and aid a swift recovery, the theory of coronet cutting looks at the tree from a different angle - Habitat Value.

  • A climber way up a tree performs coronet cutting techniques
  • A closeup of some coronet cutting in progress
  • A tired operator takes a moment up a large tree, looking at the cameraman with his visor up and sweating heavily
  • The chainsaw operator up a large tree, begins to plan removing a large stem
  • Another tree, ready to be worked upon with a climber stood in the middle of it, planning his next course of action
