Split Fork Bench

The Bench at Sirhowy Valley Country Park was made from the planks of a Beech tree, felled as part of the woodland management of the park, and a fork from a fallen beech tree which lies about 30m from where the bench now sits.

Other than the Coach Screws, no part of this bench has ever left the park and maybe those who rest upon it will stay a few moments longer.

By using the natural fork of the tree, a simple yet very strong, organic form is used to great effect, and fit perfectly with its environment.
